FINDING A BALANCE

An Introduction to Anthroposophical Healthcare at Park Attwood Clinic

Finding a BalanceCo-written and edited by Jennifer Bryant, a nurse at Park Attwood, to shed a little light on the many mysteries of the substances, treatments and therapies used in anthroposophic nursing. The book contains invaluable chapters which cover the complexities of this area of healthcare: the principles behind this unique form of healthcare and particular nursing techniques at Park Attwood including massage and medicines administered, plus an overview of the complementary therapies practiced at Park Attwood such as art therapies, massage therapy and hydrotherapy. An especially useful section highlights some of the plant substances used by nurses in teas and compresses such as ginger, chamomile and yarrow. A great introduction for anyone with general nursing experience considering further training to broaden their skills. This is a guide written by and essentially for health professionals, but many of the insights are particularly interesting to anyone who has experienced anthroposophic nursing and with hindsight would like a greater understanding of this approach.
