TREATMENTS

a natural approach

For many of us, illness - physical, emotional and mental - arises from or brings about a personal crisis. This can challenge our sense of purpose and direction in life. At Park Attwood, we believe that health and wellbeing are underpinned by our inherent life force that helps us to recover. Treatment at the clinic aims to activate and nurture each individual’s emotional and spiritual resources and stimulate the natural healing processes. Therapies, treatments and medication available at Park Attwood include:

nursing care

Park Attwood provides quality nursing care with a high nurse-to-patient ratio, which allows time for special treatments such as herbal applications or foot baths and light massage with aromatic oils. Nurses offer the supportive care crucial to nurture the emotional health of patients who are often frail and exhausted.

pastoral care

Pastoral care is provided, at the request of patients, by a visiting priest.

individual care

A particular feature of treatment at Park Attwood is the way that all members of the medical team work together to develop treatment programmes that are specifically tailored to the needs of each individual patient. This is achieved, particularly, through twice weekly team meetings at which doctors, therapists and nurses each share their experience of the patient, but also through the shared approaches that underpin the way that each member of the team works.

life at Park Attwood

In addition to the individual therapies, treatments and medication listed above, and the supportive care provided by the clinic’s nurses, life at Park Attwood itself provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment. There is time for reflection and for social and cultural activities to support patients’ wellbeing. Park Attwood has seven acres of mature, landscaped gardens for patients to enjoy. Patients often group together to chat, relax or read in the main hall and drawing room. Food is freshly prepared on the premises using natural, seasonal, mainly organic produce, and eaten in a common dining-room that overlooks breathtakingly beautiful views of the Worcestershire countryside. Special dietary needs are catered for where appropriate.

Organic produce"My time here brought me back from the edge – I had support to deal with my inner chaos and evaluate my life in order to move forward. I am calmer, more tolerant and appreciate the truly good things in life, enjoying my children, family and friends, pottering in the garden. Something has changed within; I am at peace with myself (usually!), and have acquired a reverence for life. Whatever the future brings, I am better equipped to handle it, and know that Park Attwood is there to help if needed."
